Cranbrook, BC – Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today announced the Club has acquired 18-year-old Forward Ryan Chynoweth from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a fifth round draft pick in either the 2014 or 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. Ryan, who is the son of ICE General Manager Jeff Chynoweth was the 24th selection in the 2010 Bantam Draft by the Everett Silvertips and was traded to the Americans last season.
“Ryan will complement our existing age group of 1995 born players. He adds versatility playing either wing or center, and is one of only three left shot forwards on our team,” added Chynoweth.
The ICE are now carrying 24 players, including two goaltenders, eight defenseman and 14 forwards.
The next home action for the ICE will be Friday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Saturday night against the Regina Pats. Both game times at 7:00 pm. Tickets are available at the Kootenay ICE Office or by calling 250-417-0322.
