Kennewick, Wash – The Kootenay ICE preseason record dropped to 0-3-0 with a 8-6 loss to the Everett Silvertips in WHL exhibition action on Saturday afternoon.
In the first period the ICE got goals from Kyle O’Connor on a goal mouth scramble and a Matthew Alfaro on the powerplay with a wrist shot off the goalies’ glove.
In the second period the ICE scored 2 goals 13 seconds apart with Collin Shirley on a goal mouth scramble and a one-timer by Jordyn Boyd.
In the third period Collin Shirley scored his 2nd of the game on a powerplay and Austin Vetterl had the other goal.
Jagger Dirk 3 assists and Luke Philp had 2 assists.
The ICE will play two exhibition games in the Crowsnest Pass next weekend against Lethbridge and Calgary.
