1. As you heard on the radio earlier this week Mackenzie Skapski is out 7-10 days with a lower body injury. Prospect Jayden Sittler will join the club for part of next weeks’ road trip. This weekend Tyson Brouwer and Jeremy Mousseau from the Kimberley Dynamiters will be the emergency back-ups.
2. Tonight’s game against Red Deer is one of the School Spirit nights. It’ll be a great atmosphere as over 500 tickets have already been sold to the participating schools. There is a chance for the schools to win money during the game.
3. The ICE plan to have another School Spirit night in conjunction with Anti-Bullying week in March.
4. In the 2013 calendar year Jaedon Descheneau has 38 goals in 52 regular season games. At the end of last season he had 24 goals in 34 games and this year has 14 goals in 18 games.
5. The ICE and Rebels will meet for the 4th time this season, the Rebels lead the season series 2-1.
Head-to-Head Leaders – ICE Sam Reinhart 2 goals 4 assists (plus a shootout goal) and Jaedon Descheneau 2 goals 2 assists. Rebels Brooks Maxwell 2 goals 4 assists, Rhyse Dieno 1 goal 4 assists and Lukas Sutter 3 goals 1 assist.
6. The ICE will host Spokane on Saturday. It’s the first of 5 meetings and this year 3 will be played in Cranbrook.
7. The ICE are usually in the top 3 in most time spent on the road but so far have played only 7 road games and only have spent 2 nights in a hotel.
8. Next week they will have 4 road games and 5 hotel nights and then in early December it’s a 5-game BC Division road trip with 8 hotel nights.
9. On and off the ice road trips are very important to help team unity and these trips will be a good thing for the ICE.
10. There aren’t many teams who have their players out in the community as much as the ICE and that was very evident the past 2 weeks as every school was visited to help promote School Spirit night.
11. Hearing tons of great comments as the ICE are a part of the Believe in Gold event later this month.
