Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE goalie Nathan Lieuwen made 27 saves for his 7th career shutout in a 2-0 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes in WHL action on Tuesday night.
At :52 seconds the Hurricanes had a goal disallowed after video replay ruled the puck was touched by a high stick, before it hit the post and then was put into the net by Graham Hood.
ICE opened the scoring after creating a turnover at the Hurricane blueline and had an odd-man rush that was finished by Jesse Ismond on a feed from Elgin Pearce.
Ismond and Pearce have points in 3 straight games.
ICE made it 2-0 as Sam Reinhart took the puck off the boards and went to the net and from in close picked the top corner high on the stick side.
On the goal Mike Simpson earned his 1st WHL point.
Jonathan Martin made his WHL debut after sitting out a 4 game suspension.
