Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE forwards Collin Shirley and Sam Reinhart each had 1 goal and 1 assist and Mackenzie Skapski made 25 saves for his 5th shutout of season in a 4-0 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors in WHL action on Saturday.
The ICE (26-27-2-0) opened the scoring late in the first period as Collin Shirley drove wide around a defender and put the puck into the crease that went off a skate and through the goalies’ legs.
It’s the 6th time Shirley has scored the first goal of the game.
In the second period the ICE made it 2-0 on the powerplay with Jagger Dirk scoring with a slap shot high on the glove side.
The goal came 2 seconds after a 2-man advantage ended.
Before the period ended Sam Reinhart had a breakaway and scored on a backhand deke.
