Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE forwards Max Reinhart and Joe Antilla had 1 goal and 2 assists in a 4-3 win over the Spokane Chiefs in WHL action on Friday night.
The ICE (32-18-4-4) opened the scoring with Max Reinhart finding a wide open Joe Antilla in the slot and he picked the top corner with a wrist shot.
Joe Antilla played in career game #326 which is 3rd in all-time team history.
The ICE made it 2-0 on a 3-on-2 break across the line, Max Reinhart was the playmaker again and fed Drew Czerwonka who scored with a one-time slap shot.
The Chiefs (31-19-4-3) got on the board as Marek Kalus scored with a wrist shot through a defenseman and beat the goalie on the glove.
The ICE created a turnover in the Chiefs’ zone and then Joe Antilla found Drew Czerwonka in the slot who fed Max Reinhart alone in front of the net and scored with a shot low on the glove side.
ICE Captain Drew Czerwonka left the game in the second period with a leg injury.
The ICE took a 4-1 lead as Jon Martin crashed the net to bang in a Jaedon Descheneau rebound.
The Chiefs made it 4-2 as Brendon Kichton point shot was deflected in by Dominik Uher.
In the third period Domink Uher crashed the crease for a redirection goal on a pass from Blake Gal.
The Chiefs were called for 2 penalties in the final 2 minutes of the game and did not have a chance to pull their goalie for an extra attacker.
The ICE will host Regina on Saturday.
