Day Off Thoughts

The series between the ICE and Oil Kings will resume on Wednesday and Thursday at the Rec-Plex.
The series has seen each team take a 1-goal lead into the 3rd period, the Oil Kings added to their lead to win game 1 and came from behind to win game 2.
Including the regular season and playoffs, 24 times the ICE have had the lead or tied in the 3rd period and have lost the game.
During the current 7 game losing streak it has happened 5 times.
It's the strangest stretch of games I have ever seen, with goals going in off legs, arms and ICE players into their net.
In their history the ICE have trailed 2-0 5 times and came back to win the series twice. But they have never won a series when losing the first 2 games on the road (0-3).
As expected, for the ICE to win the series they need everyone playing their best.
The ICE powerplay is 0-for-8 in the series but did score a goal exactly when a penalty ended in game 2.
Both teams have had scoring chances while shorthanded.
How much depth do the Oil Kings have on forward? 20-year-old forwards Jordan Peddle and Rhett Rachinksi have played on their 3rd and 4th lines.
Henrik Samuelsson has sat out a 2-game suspension and a pretty good player will have to sit out to make room for him in the line-up.
Some really positive articles have been in the Edmonton newspapers during the series. Most of the information is old news to the fans in the Kootenays but is a great update for the people in Edmonton who saw the ICE leave 14 years ago. Over the years some media can't wait to be negative about Cranbrook and the challenges the ICE have to go through in a small market, so it's refreshing to see the whole truth revealed.
