Cranbrook, BC – The Red Deer Rebels came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat the Kootenay ICE 3-2 in WHL action on Sunday night.
The ICE (4-7-0-0) opened the scoring as Collin Shirley was alone in front of the net for a rebound goal of a shot from Jaedon Descheneau.
With the assist Descheneau extended his point streak to 3 games.
Early in the second period the ICE made it 2-0 with Jaedon Descheneau scoring with long wrist shot to the far low corner.
Descheneau has goals in 3 straight games.
1:46 later the Rebels (6-7-1-1) scored as defenseman Kevin Pochuk jumped on a loose puck in the slot and scored with a slap shot.
Red Deer tied the game on the powerplay as the ICE got caught on a line change and the Rebels had a 5-on-2 break with Charles Inglis get a rebound goal.
In the third period Charles Ingils got the game winning goal on a pwerplay with a rebound near the crease.
The crowd was the smallest in ICE history.
The ICE will host Regina on Wednesday.
