Jayden Hart's goal at 13:43 of the third period broke a tie and lifted the Prince Albert Raiders to a 3-2 victory over the Kootenay ICE Tuesday.
ICE forward River Beattie scored his first career WHL goal, but a 28-save performance from Raiders goaltender Nick McBride helped lift the hosts to a comeback win at Art Hauser Centre.
Kootenay started the game brightly, opening the scoring at the 5:43 mark when Levi Cable pounced on a rebound off an odd-man rush, beating McBride for his second goal of the season.
Beattie added a second goal for the ICE two and a half minutes later after a nifty setup from linemate Zak Zborosky.
Prince Albert cut the Kootenay lead in half before the first period was over, though, thanks to an unassisted goal from Matteo Gennaro with 5:26 remaining in the frame.
Raiders captain Josh Morrissey tied the game at 2-2 with the lone goal of the second period. The blueliner jumped into an odd-man rush and slapped a puck past ICE netmider Wyatt Hoflin at 13:25.
Cable came close to giving Kootenay the lead again midway through the third period, but the goal was waved off due to a high stick.
Hart's goal proved decisive, as McBridge stopped all 11 shots sent his way in the final frame.
Hoflin, who made his fourth consecutive start Tuesday, made 33 saves for Kootenay.
ICE forward Jaedon Descheneau collected one assist, giving him 199 career WHL regular season points.
UP NEXT: the ICE wrap up their two-game road trip Wednesday in Saskatoon. Game time is 7:05 pm.
