Calgary, Alb – The Calgary Hitmen scored 3 goals in the 3rd period in a 4-2 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Sunday afternoon.
The ICE opened the scoring late in the 1st period as from the corner Brock Montgomery fed Brendan Hurley cruising through the slot and he scored with a one time shot through the goalies’ legs.
In the 2nd period the clubs exchanged goal 53 seconds apart.
After the Hitmen ended Nathan Lieuwen’s shutout streak at 103:20, Elgin Pearce started a 3 way passing play with Jesse Ismond finding Sam Reinhart alone near the goalie and he scored on a backhand deke.
Pearce has points in all 5 ICE games.
ICE will visit Edmonton on Wednesday.
