Lethbridge, Alb – Kootenay ICE forward Max Reinhart had 1 goal and 2 assists in a 4-2 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes in WHL action on Monday night.
The Hurricanes (2-9-0-1) opened the scoring as Craig Leverton in a goal mouth scramble scored his 1st career goal. Jamal Watson and 15-year-old Reid Duke earned their 1st points by assisting on the goal.
Less than three minutes later Joe Antilla intercepted a Hurricane pass in the slot and fed Jaedon Descaheneau for a one time shot and he scored his 1st career goal.
The ICE (7-2-0-2) made it 2-1 as Jagger Dirk’s point shot along the ice beat the screened goalie low on the glove side.
On the power-play the ICE scored on an Adam Rossignol deflection of a Max Reinhart shot.
In the 3rd period the Hurricanes scored on the power-play as Cam Braes fed Landon Oslanski sneaking in from the blueline and he scored his 1st goal of the season.
While on a power-play late in the 3rd period the Hurricanes pulled their goalie for a 6-on-4 skater advantage only to see Max Reinhart take a dangerous free puck near the ICE crease, spin around and score into the empty 170 feet away.
The ICE are 3-0-0-0 vs Lethbridge this season.
Defenseman Luke Paulsen left the game in the 1st period and didn’t return.
Dylan McKinlay missed his 2nd game in a row but took the pre-game skate.
ICE will visit Medicine Hat on Tuesday.
