Lethbridge 7 Kootenay 2 Game #38

Lethbridge, Alb – The Lethbridge Hurricanes beat the Kootenay ICE 7-2 in WHL action on Monday night.

Lethbridge scored on their 1st shot on goal as Reid Duke got his 1st career goal on a redirection on a pass at the far post from Jamal Watson.
The ICE tied the game on a power-play as Max Reinhart received a pass from behind the net from Adam Rossignol.
Lethbridge regained the lead on a power-play goal from Brody Sutter who alone at the top of the crease for a one-time shot.

The ICE tied the game 2-2 as Max Reinhart scored his 2nd of the game with a back hand shot that went of the top of the goalies pad into the net.
Jesse Wood-Shatz earned his 1st career point with an assist.
The Hurricanes then scored 3 goals in less than 4 minutes to take a 5-2 lead with Sam McKechnie scoring twice and Philp Tot the other marker.
In the 1st 4 meetings between the clubs the Hurricanes had scored a combined 5 goals, tonight the scored 5 goals in 2 periods.

The Hurricanes added to the lead with 2 third period powerplay goals from Cam Braes and Juraj Bezuch.

The last time the ICE lost a game in Lethbridge was March 13, 2009

The ICE will host Swift Current on Wednesday.

It’s the first time all season that Mackenzie Skapski was the starting goalie in back-to-back games.

To have a full line-up Lethbridge called up 15-year-old Reid Duke who earned his 1st WHL point against the ICE back on October 17th. Duke will take part in the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria from January 13-22.
