Kennewick, Wash – Kootenay ICE forward Luke Philp had 1 goal and 1 assist in a 3-2 loss to the Everett Silvertips in WHL preseason action on Saturday afternoon.
For the third game in a row the ICE gave up the first goal of the game but would tie it midway through the period on a shorthanded 2-on-1 break with Luke Philp picking the top far corner with his 3rd goal of the preseason and his 2nd short-handed goal.
Early in the second period the ICE took a 2-1 lead on a wrist shot from the point from Kyle Krabben.
The Silvertips scored 2 goals in the final few minutes of period to lead 3-2 after 2 periods.
The ICE pulled their goalie with 2 minutes left in the third period but failed to get the tying goal.
The ICE will play Lethbridge in the Crowsnest Pass on Friday.
