Regina, Sask – Kootenay ICE forward Sam Reinhart had 1 goal and 1 assist in a 3-1 win over the Regina Pats in WHL action on Saturday night.
The ICE (23-25-2-0) opened the scoring early in the first period with Jon Martin coming out from the corner and picked the top corner on the stick side.
The Pats (18-27-3-2) tied the game on a face-off win in the ICE zone and Lane Scheidl deflected a point shot from Luke Fenske.
Late in the second period the ICE scored on a 2-man advantage with Luke Philp finding Sam Reinhart on a back door pass and he scored his team leading 25th goal and 6th PPG.
Late in the third period Levi Cable scored a shorthanded goal into an empty net.
It’s his first career SHG.
The ICE held Regina to 4 shots on goal in the period.
