Spokane, Wash – Spokane Chiefs Brendan Kichton had 1 goal and 2 assists in a 4-2 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Saturday night.
The Chiefs (28-14-1-0) opened the scoring late in the first period on the powerplay with Mitch Holmberg in the crease to redirect a Brendon Kichton pass into the net.
On a delayed penalty Brendon Kichton was near the net to deflect a shot into the net.
The ICE (17-25-1-0) scored early in the second period with Jaedon Descheneau near the net to put in his own rbound off the post into the net.
Spokane’s Mitch Holmberg got his 2nd of the game on a partial break and in close he flipped in his 27th of the season.
Late in the period Brock Montgomery fed Luke Philp on a partial breakaway and scored with a forehand deke through the goalies legs.
Midway through the third period Dylan Walchuk gave the Chiefs another 2 goal lead with his 12th over season with a wrist shot high on the stick side.
Sam Reinhart (6 games) and Jaedon Descheneau (6 games) extended their point streaks.
The loss ended the ICE winning streak at 7 games.
The last time the ICE had a 7 game winning streak was October 16-29, 2010.
