CALGARY, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Wyatt Hoflin of the Kootenay ICE has been named the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for March 2015.
A 20-year-old from Spruce Grove, AB, Hoflin posted a record of 4-3-0-1 over eight appearances in March. He recorded a league-best 1.74 goals against average and a .939 save percentage over the span. In six of the games he started, Hoflin held the opposition to two goals or fewer.
Hoflin’s play helped lift the ICE into the first Wild Card position in the 2015 WHL Playoffs. The 6’1”, 178 lb netminder earned two first star honours, one second star selection as well as an additional third star selection in March.
Hoflin is in his third WHL campaign with the Kootenay ICE and has posted a 47-44-1-4 record with three shutouts in 110 career regular season contests.
These accomplishments make Wyatt Hoflin a deserving choice as the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for March.
