ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 35-22-4-4 record (19-11-1-2 at home, 16-11-3-2 on the road, 2-4 in overtime, 3-4 in shootouts) and in fifth place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and tied for eighth overall in the WHL...The ICE have seven regular season games remaining in the 2011-2012 regular season (three at home, four on the road).

PLAYOFF PACKAGES AVAILABLE: 2012 playoff packages are now available to the general public at the KOOTENAY ICE Office...Eight game ticket packages are $136.00 for Adults, $112.00 for Seniors, $96.00 for Students, and $72.00 for Youth…Fans without season tickets or flex paks that wish to purchase playoff packages can do so with a $100 non-refundable deposit on 2012-2013 season tickets..The ICE Office will be open over the lunch hour this week to accommodate those wishing to purchase the packages...For more information on playoff packages, phone 250-417-0322.

GIFT CARDS: Get the gift that keeps on giving…The KOOTENAY ICE now have reusable and reloadable GIFT CARDS for any dollar amount…Your special someone can use the gift card to buy individual game tickets, FLEX PAKS or PLAYOFF PACKAGES…GIFT CARDS are available now at the KOOTENAY ICE OFFICE.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE will finish the 2011-2012 regular season with an above .500 record for the 13th consecutive season, which is the longest active streak in the WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE…KOOTENAY will finish the regular season with a .500 or better road record for the 11th time in the last 13 seasons...The ICE need two more victories to reach 600 wins in franchise history (598-417-122)…KOOTENAY is tied for 12th overall on the power play in the WHL at 20.8%...The ICE are fourth in the LEAGUE in penalty killing at 81.0%...KOOTENAY is 20-13-1-1 when outshooting their opponent, 14-6-3-2 when being outshot and 1-3-0-1 when tied...The ICE are 25-3-1-2 when leading after the second period, 1-15-0-1 when losing and 9-4-3-1 when tied...NATHAN LIEUWEN, who is first in the WHL in goals against average (2.36), is third in the LEAGUE in save percentage (.919)...LIEUWEN has set franchise record for the most wins by a goaltender with 84 (82 career wins was the old record held by TAYLOR DAKERS - 2003-2007)...SAM REINHART (27-32-59), who is third in the LEAGUE for points by a rookie, is tied for third in the WHL for scoring the first goal of the game with eight...JOEY LEACH, who leads the ICE in plus / minus with a plus 26, needs to record four more points to reach 100 in his WHL career...JOE ANTILLA is third in career games played with the ICE with 333 (DALE MAHOVSKY - 344, KEVIN KING - 335)...TANNER MUTH played in his 150th WHL career game on February 22 in REGINA.

SCORING STREAKS: MAX REINHART (3-3-6) and SAM REINHART (2-1-3) have each recorded at least a point in their last three games.

INJURY / TRANSACTION: Forward DREW CZERWONKA will be out of the KOOTENAY line up two to four weeks with a lower body injury...KOOTENAY has called up Forward LUKE PHILP (November 6, 1995 - CANMORE - AJHL) for the remainder of the season.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 65 games of the 2010-2011 season the ICE were 41-20-1-3, after 66 games 42-20-1-3 and after 67 games 43-20-1-3.
