ICE Weekly Report

ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 4-13-0-0 record (3-4-0-0 at home, 1-9-0-0 on the road, 2-0-0 in overtime) and in sixth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION...KOOTENAY, who ended a seven game losing streak November 1 versus LETHBRIDGE, continues its six-game home stand this week with matchups against EDMONTON November 7 and SWIFT CURRENT November 8.

MOVEMBER: The ICE along with the CANADIAN HOCKEY LEAGUE are growing moustaches to raise money for PROSTATE AND TESTICULAR CANCER as well as MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES...Fans can donate to the cause by visiting and searching KOOTENAY ICE...Last year, the ICE and 38 other CHL clubs raised over $157,000...Follow the ICE Twitter and Facebook accounts for updates all month long.

ROSTER UPDATE: KOOTENAY is currently carrying 24 players (two goaltenders, seven defensemen and 15 forwards)...The ICE roster is made up of three 1994-born players, nine 1995-born players, four 1996-born players, five 1997-born players, and three 1998-born players...KOOTENAY has eight first-year players on its roster.

DID YOU KNOW: Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU recorded his 64th career multi-point game November 1 versus LETHBRIDGE...DESCHENEAU is two assists behind MIKE GREEN (122) for tenth most in ICE franchise history...Forward LEVI CABLE and Defenseman RINAT VALIEV both matched career highs with three points November 1 against the HURRICANES...Forward AUSTIN VETTERL is two games short of 150 career regular season appearances with the ICE...Former KOOTENAY Forward MATT FRASER (BOSTON BRUINS) scored his first career NHL regular season game-winning goal November 1 versus OTTAWA...FRASER scored goals 1:28 apart to lead the BRUINS to a 4-2 victory.

TRANSACTIONS / INJURIES: Forward SAM REINHART was returned to the ICE from the BUFFALO SABRES of the NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE October 31...KOOTENAY has released Defenseman JORDAN STEENBERGEN to Junior A... Forward JON MARTIN will be out of the ICE lineup one week with an upper body injury...Defenseman TYLER KING will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup one week with a lower body injury...Defenseman TANNER FAITH will be out of the ICE lineup indefinitely with an upper body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 17 games of the 2013-14 season the ICE were 8-7-2-0, after 18 games 9-7-2-0 and after 19 games 9-8-2-0.
