As I was watching an Islanders-Capitals game yesterday TV Analyst Butch Goring had a stat that Washington had 14 former 1st round picks on their roster.
That got me to thinking about the WHL teams and how many 1st round Bantam picks were on each team.
Then of course I wondered about 2nd round picks, 3rd round picks etc.
As you look at these numbers remember that this is where the players were taken in the draft and not all were selected by the team they are currently on this season. Some were acquired via trade or on waivers.
Vancouver has a league best 7 1st round picks (all of their own selections) with Brandon and Prince George tied for second with 6.
Vancouver has a combined 12 players selected in the first 2 rounds, Spokane has 11, Victoria and Prince George have 10.
Portland and Everett each have a combined 2 players who were selected in the first 2 rounds.
Portland and Kamloops lead with 9 undrafted players on the roster.
