Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE ended a 3-game losing slide with a 3-1 win over the Calgary Hitmen in WHL action on Friday night.
ICE opened the scoring while shorthanded as Dustin Sylvester finished off a 2-on-1 break after receiving a pass from Michael Stickland.
Hitmen tied it early in the 2nd on a power-play as Kyle Bortis scored on a 2-on-0 break after receiving a pass from Brandon Kozun.
ICE regained the lead 2-1 as Jesse Ismond redirected a point pass from Ian Barteaux.
Tylan Stephens added insurance into an empty net.
ICE will have John Negrin in the line-up on Saturday after returning from Calgary Flames camp.
The ICE will visit Calgary on Saturday and then host Edmonton on Sunday.
