Training camp is always an exciting time but there is an increased anticipation this year for the ICE.
The club has 19 players returning from last years’ squad that finished in 4th place in the Conference and set a Franchise Record with a 14-game winning streak.
Returnees include
2 goalies - Todd Mathews (20) and Nathan Lieuwen (19).
6 defensemen - Hayden Rintoul (19), Brayden McNabb (19), James Martin (19), Joey Leach (18), Luke Paulsen (18) and Jagger Dirk (17).
11 forwards – Matt Fraser (20), Steele Boomer (20), Kevin King (20), Jesse Ismond (19), Joe Antilla (19) Max Reinhart (18), Drew Czerwonka (18), Elgin Pearce (18), Brock Montgomery (18), Christian Magnus (18) and Brendan Hurley (17).
The biggest decisions will be the goalie situation and the overage situation.
If Mathews stays as the #1 guy then Fraser, Boomer or King have to be moved.
If Lieuwen becomes the starter then the club can keep the 3 over-age forwards.
