Kootenay 5 Moose Jaw 2 Playoff Game #2

Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE scored 2 powerplay goals and 2 shorthanded goals in a 5-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors, to tie the 1st round playoffs series 1-1, in WHL playoff action on Saturday night.

Brayden McNabb had 1 goal and 2 assists, Matt Fraser 1 goal and 1 assist and Cody Eakin had 2 assists.

ICE opened the scoring on the powerplay as Brayden McNabb fed a wide open Matt Fraser at the bottom of the circle and scored into a wide open net.
ICE made it 2-0 on another powerplay as Cody Eakin fed Brayden McNabb in the high slot and scored with a slap shot that beat the goalie on the stickside.

In the 2nd period the ICE made it 3-0 while shorthanded as Drew Czerwonka fed Max Reinhart near the net and he scored high over the fallen goalie.

In the 3rd period the Warriors got a rebound goal from Quinton Howden who got his 3rd of the series.
Moose Jaw defenseman Dylan McIlrath received a charging major and game misconduct through the 3rd period. ICE forward Jesse Ismond left the game after being hit in the head with the hit.
Skating 4-on-4 the Warriors made it 3-2 as Collin Bowman found a wide open Spencer Edwards who had an open net to score the goal.
The Warriors pulled their goalie with 1:35 left and Joe Antilla scored into the empty net to make the score 4-2.
Moose Jaw pulled the goalie again on a powerplay and Brock Montgomery from the ICE end line scored into the empty net for the clubs’ 2nd shorthanded goal of the game.
