Moose Jaw 4 Kootenay 0 Playoff Game #1

Cranbrook, BC – The Moose Jaw Warriors scored 3 1st period goals in a 4-0 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL playoff action on Friday night.

Thomas Heemskerk made 30 saves for his 1st career playoff shutout and Quinton Howden scored 2 goals.

Moose Jaw opened the scoring as they threw a few big body checks and created a loose puck in the slot and Andrew Johnson scored with a low shot on the stick side.
Warriors made it 2-0 as Quinton Howden scored on a wrist shot from the top of the circle that beat the goalie high on the glove side.
Howden made it 3-0 on a shorthanded breakaway as he scored with a forehand deke.

In the 2nd period Jesse Paradis got a breakaway and scored with a wrist shot high on the stick side.
ICE changed goalies as Brett Teskey replaced Nathan Lieuwen.
ICE scored a goal midway through the 2nd period but after video replay it was ruled no goal because of a high stick.
Lieuwen went back into the net at 10:47 of the period.
