ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 2-6-0-0 record (1-0-0-0 at home, 1-6-0-0 on the road, 1-0-0 in overtime) and in fifth place in the CENTRAL DIVISION...The ICE will play its next two games on home ice beginning October 17 versus REGINA.

ROSTER UPDATE: KOOTENAY is currently carrying 24 players (two goaltenders, eight defensemen and 14 forwards)...The ICE roster is made up of three 1994-born players, eight 1995-born players, five 1996-born players, five 1997-born players, and three 1998-born players...KOOTENAY has eight first-year players on its roster.

DID YOU KNOW: Goaltender KEELAN WILLIAMS made his first career WHL start October 9 at MOOSE JAW (35 saves, First Star)...Forward JAEDON DESCHENEAU recorded his sixth career WHL hat-trick (fourth in regular season play) October 8 at REGINA...DESCHENEAU is two points shy of 200 career regular season points, and needs to appear in one game to reach 200 regular season games played...Forward LUKE PHILP scored his first career short-handed goal October 9 against the WARRIORS...Seven former KOOTENAY ICE players appeared on NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE opening-day rosters (ADAM CRACKNELL - COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS, CODY EAKIN - DALLAS STARS, MATT FRASER - BOSTON BRUINS, BRAYDEN McNABB - LOS ANGELES KINGS, ROMAN POLAK - TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS, SAM REINHART - BUFFALO SABRES, JARRET STOLL - LOS ANGELES KINGS).

TRANSACTION / INJURIES: The ICE have added Forward TIM BOZON (March 24, 1994) from the HAMILTON BULLDOGS of the AMERICAN HOCKEY LEAGUE...Forward JON MARTIN will be out of the KOOTENAY lineup day to day with an upper body injury...Forward VINCE LOSCHIAVO will be out of the ICE lineup one week with an upper body injury...Defenseman RINAT VALIEV will be out of the KOOTENAY line up two weeks with a lower body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After eight games of the 2013-14 season the ICE were 4-3-1-0, after nine games 4-4-1-0 and after ten games 5-4-1-0.
