Press Release
Mississauga, ON - The Owen Sound Attack today announced that forward and team captain Garrett Wilson is expected to miss all remaining games of the 2011 MasterCard Memorial Cup beginning with Thursday night’s Tie-Breaker contest against the Kootenay Ice.
Wilson is suffering from concussion like symptoms following a hit he received in the first period of Wednesday night’s game against the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors.
“The Attack will once again exercise on the side of caution as it relates to the health of our players,” said Attack General Manager Dale DeGray. “We will continue to monitor the status of both Garrett and Joey Hishon as we look to move forward in this tournament.”
The Attack have submitted a formal request for the play to be reviewed for supplemental discipline. As per MasterCard Memorial Cup policy, the play will now be reviewed by the Discipline Chairman.
