Kelowna 3 Kootenay 1 Game #30

Cranbrook, BC – The Kelowna Rockets scored 3 goals in the third period for a 3-1 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Tuesday night.

The ICE (9-20-1-0) opened the scoring in the second period while on the powerplay with Collin Shirley near the net to redirect a pass from the corner from Kyle O’Connor.

The Rockets (20-9-1-1) scored 2 goals 95 seconds apart to take a 2-1 lead with a powerplay goal from Tyson Baillie and an even strength marker from Colten Martin.
Baillie added an insurance marker before the ICE had a chance to pull their goalie for an extra attacker.

The game was the start of a 5-game road trip for the Rockets.
The ICE will start a 4-game road trip with a visit to Prince Albert on Friday.

Because of injuries the ICE were one skater short of a complete line-up.
The ICE had no 20-year-olds and only 3 19-year-olds in the line-up.
ICE Scratches – Tanner Muth (3rd game upper body 1-2 weeks), Brock Montgomery (2nd game upper body 1-2 weeks), Joey Leach (4th game upper body 1-3 weeks).
