Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE forward Max Reinhart had 2 3rd period goals in a 2-1 win over the Red Deer Rebels in WHL action on Saturday night.
All the goals came in the final period
The Rebels scored while shorthanded as Josh Cowen’s attempted shot went off a ICE defenseman’s stick through the legs of the netminder.
ICE tied the game on the power-play. After calling a timeout, the ICE on a planned play fed Hayden Rintoul sneaking in at the back door, his shot is stopped but the rebound was put in by Max Reinhart.
After killing of a power-play the ICE got the game winner as Rintoul came out of the penalty box and went on the attack on a 3-on-2 break. Rintoul fed the trailing Reinhart who scored on a one time shot that went in stick side.
The ICE have won 9 games in a row.
The ICE lead the season series 3-2 with each team winning a game in extra time.
