ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 23-10-1-2 record (11-3-1-1 at home, 12-7-0-1 on the road, 0-1 in overtime, 3-2 in shootouts) and in first place in the CENTRAL DIVISION and third in the WHL…KOOTENAY was ranked ninth in the BMO CHL MASTERCARD TOP 10 RANKINGS for the week of December 20…KOOTENAY will play three of their next four games against the CENTRAL DIVISION.

SAPUTO NIGHT: When the ICE host the MEDICINE HAT TIGERS on December 28 it will be SAPUTO NIGHT…Fans in attendance will get the opportunity to take part in a race for gift baskets courtesy of SAPUTO.

SPCA NIGHT: When KOOTENAY hosts the SWIFT CURRENT BRONCOS on December 31 it will be SPCA Night…Fans will have the opportunity take part in a ball toss and win some great prizes.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE are seventh in the League in overall penalty killing (82.9%)…KOOTENAY is 19-8-1-2 against the EASTERN CONFERENCE this season (10-2-1-1 at home, 9-6-0-1 on the road, 0-1 in overtime, 3-2 in shootouts)…MAX REINHART scored his 50th WHL goal on December 17 against RED DEER…NATHAN LIEUWEN is sixth in the WHL in goals against average (2.66)…JESSE ISMOND needs one more point to reach 100 in his WHL career…BRAYDEN MCNABB needs to record three more assists to reach 100 in his WHL career…KEVIN KING has played in 299 games with the ICE.

INJURY: Defenseman HAYDEN RINTOUL will be out of the ICE line up one to two weeks with a knee injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 36 games of the 2009-2010 season the ICE were 18-15-1-2, after 37 games 19-15-1-2 and after 38 games 20-15-1-2.
