Red Deer, Alb – Red Deer Rebels came back from a 4-1 deficit to beat the Kootenay ICE 6-4 in WHL action on Saturday night.
ICE scored all their goals in the 1st period.
Drew Czerwonka scored on a breakaway, Matt Fraser scored on a 2-man-advantage, Fraser scored another on the powerplay and Czerwonka added another on powerplay.
With the game tied 4-4 in the 3rd the ICE had a goal taken away by video replay as it ruled to be kicked in by Fraser.
It's the 1st time the ICE have lost when leading after 2 periods.
The 3-goal lead is their laregest lead relinquished.
It’s now the X-mas break for the WHL, the ICE will host Medicine Hat on December 28th.
The ICE go into the break in 1st place in the Central Division and 1 point ahead of the Rebels and Tigers.
