Kootenay 6 Saskatoon 1 Game #27

Saskatoon, Sask – Kootenay ICE forward Max Reinhart scored his 3rd career hat-trick in a 6-1 win over the Saskatoon Blades in WHL action on Wednesday night.

The ICE have set a Franchise record with their 7th straight road win.

The ICE opened the scoring as Joe Antilla helped win a battle for the puck in the Blades zone, Sam Reinhart found Max Reinhart in the slot and his one-time slap shot squeaked through the goalies’ legs.
Max Reinhart made it 2-0 coming down the left wing with a slap shot that zipped past the goalie on the stick side.
Luke Paulsen, Brock Montgomery and Max Reinhart all hit the goal post/cross bar during the period.

Blades scored the only goal of the second period on a deflection by Jake Trask.
The goal ended Nathan Lieuwen’s shutout streak at 96:35.

After killing off a early third period penalty the ICE took a 3-1 leqad on a 2-on-none break with Brock Montgomery finishing with a redirection of a pass from Jesse Ismond.
Max Reinhart completed the hat-trick with a back door pass from Sam Reinhart.
Blades changed goalies as Adam Todd replaced Andrey Makarov.
Eric Benoit notched his 8th of the year with a partial break to the net and his wrist shot beat the new goalie on the stick side.
Sam Reinhart earned his 4th assist as his one-time shot is stopped and Jon Martin put in the rebound.
