ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 22-12-1-3 record (12-5-1-1 at home, 10-7-0-2 on the road, 1-1-3 in overtime) and in fourth place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and eighth overall in the WHL…After the three home games this week the ICE will embark on a five game EASTERN CONFERENCE road trip (January 11-21).

PASTA AND CHICKEN BUFFET: The KOOTENAY ICE FAN CLUB is hosting a PASTA AND CHICKEN BUFFET on Sunday, February 19 at the HERITAGE INN...The dinner will be attended by the KOOTENAY ICE PLAYERS and will start with cocktails at 4:30 pm...Tickets are $30.00 and are available during home games at the FAN CLUB TABLE or from any FAN CLUB MEMBER.

SAVE ON FOODS: The 2011-2012 SAVE ON FOODS VOUCHERS are now available…Customers can purchase the ticket vouchers at the CRANBROOK SAVE ON FOODS location for all remaining KOOTENAY ICE regular season home games…Cardholders can pick them up for $19.00 including HST or for free with the redemption of 8,000 SAVE ON MORE points…Non-Cardholders can get their vouchers for $21.00 including HST.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE are 15-6-1-1 when outshooting their opponent, 6-4-0-1 when being outshot and 1-2-0-1 when the shots are tied...KOOTENAY is tied for eighth on the power play in the WHL at 23.0%...The ICE are fifth in penalty killing in the LEAGUE at 82.0%...NATHAN LIEUWEN, who is third in the LEAGUE in save percentage (.923), is second in the WHL in goals against average (2.18)...SAM REINHART is sixth in the LEAGUE for points by a rookie (10-21-31)...MAX REINHART, who is tied for fourth in the LEAGUE for scoring the first goal of the game with five, recorded his 200th career WHL point on January 2 in LETHBRIDGE...JESSE ISMOND, who needs to record two more assists to reach 100 in his WHL career, needs to play in two more games to reach 200 in his WHL career…DREW CZERWONKA needs to record two more points to reach 100 in his WHL career…JESSE WOOD-SCHATZ recorded his first WHL career point with an assist against the HURRICANES on January 2...JOHN NEIBRANDT played in his 100 WHL career game against LETHBRIDGE on December 27...JON MARTIN (TEAM WEST), SPENCER WAND (TEAM WEST), JAEDON DESCHENEAU (TEAM PACIFIC) and SAM REINHART (TEAM PACIFIC) are all participating in the 2012 WORLD UNDER-17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE in WINDSOR, ONTARIO from December 26 to January 4.

SCORING STREAK: MAX REINHART (2-3-5) has recorded at least a point in his last four games.

INJURIES/TRANSACTIONS: LUKE PAULSEN will be out of the KOOTENAY line up indefinitely with an upper body injury...JOHN NEIBRANDT will be out the ICE line up one week with an upper body injury...KOOTENAY has called up JESSE WOOD-SCHATZ (August 22, 1995 – SHERWOOD PARK KINGS – AMHL) for the next three games...WOOD-SCHATZ joins Forward LUKE PHILP (November 6, 1995 - CANMORE - AJHL) who has played the last four games with the ICE.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 38 games of the 2010-2011 season the ICE were 24-11-1-2, after 39 games 25-11-1-2 and after 40 games 26-11-1-2.
