Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE Captain Drew Czerwonka had a career high 4-point game in a 5-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos in WHL action on Wednesday night.
The Broncos (15-20-2-3) got two early power plays and scored on the second man-advantage as Reece Scarlett fed Taylor Vause near the crease for a redirection goal.
The ICE (23-12-1-3) tied the game on a power-play goal from Brock Montgomery who had his back to the net and spun around on the forehand wrist shot high on the glove side.
The ICE scored 3 goals 1:44 apart to take a 4-1 lead.
Max Reinhart scored on a backhand wraparound from behind the net.
Elgin Pearce scored while falling down to get at a loose puck near the crease.
Max Reinhart scored right of a face-off win on the power play as he wrist shot beat the screened the goalie through the legs.
Broncos changed goalies with Austin Smith replacing Jon Groenheyde.
The ICE scored their third power play goal of the game in the third period as Jagger Dirk and Drew Czerwonka completed a give-an-go and Dirk scored the goal with a shot through the goalies legs.
