Kootenay 3 Regina 1 Game #50

Regina, Sask – Kootenay ICE forward Sam Reinhart had 1 goal and 1 assist in a 3-1 win over the Regina Pats in WHL action on Saturday night.

The ICE (23-25-2-0) opened the scoring early in the first period with Jon Martin coming out from the corner and picked the top corner on the stick side.
The Pats (18-27-3-2) tied the game on a face-off win in the ICE zone and Lane Scheidl deflected a point shot from Luke Fenske.

Late in the second period the ICE scored on a 2-man advantage with Luke Philp finding Sam Reinhart on a back door pass and he scored his team leading 25th goal and 6th PPG.

Late in the third period Levi Cable scored a shorthanded goal into an empty net.
It’s his first career SHG.
The ICE held Regina to 4 shots on goal in the period.

Sam Reinhart (13 games) extended his point streak.
Jaedon Descheneau left the game in the first period and again early in the second period and had his point streak stopped at 12 games.
The ICE will visit Edmonton on Wednesday.
