ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 38-18-1-2 record (21-7-1-1 at home, 17-11-0-1 on the road, 1-1 in overtime, 3-2 in shootouts) and in fourth place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and seventh in the WHL…The ICE will finish the 2010-2011 regular season with an above .500 record for the 12th consecutive season, which is the longest active streak in the WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE…KOOTENAY has clinched a playoff spot for the 13th consecutive season and has tied CALGARY for the longest active streak in the WHL…The ICE have 13 games remaining in the regular season (six at home, seven on the road).

PLAYOFF PACKAGES AVAILABLE: 2011 playoff packages are now available until Friday, February 25th at the KOOTENAY ICE Office…Eight game ticket packages are $136.00 for Adults, $112.00 for Seniors, $96.00 for Students, and $64.00 for Youth…For more information on playoff packages, phone 250-417-0322.

SAVE ON FOODS: The 2010-2011 SAVE ON FOODS VOUCHERS are still available…Customers can purchase the ticket vouchers at the CRANBROOK SAVE ON FOODS location for all remaining KOOTENAY ICE regular season home games…Cardholders can pick them up for $18.00 including HST or for free with the redemption of 8,000 SAVE ON MORE points…Non-Cardholders can get their vouchers for $20.00 including HST.

DINNER AND A GAME: The KOOTENAY ICE along with COYOTE JACK’S GRILL have announced that fans can now purchase a restaurant seat and a meal for $25.00 for any remaining regular season home game…The meal will be off of a special COYOTE JACK’S GRILL menu that includes burgers, sandwiches, nachos and more…Limited seating is available and tickets can be purchased at the KOOTENAY ICE OFFICE.

BDO DUNWOODY NIGHT: On February 25th when KOOTENAY hosts PRINCE ALBERT it will be BDO DUNWOODY NIGHT…Fans at the game will be the chance to take part in a frisbee toss with the funds raised going to the CRANBROOK AND DISTRICT COMMUNITY FOUNDATION.

DID YOU KNOW: KOOTENAY, who lead the League in shorthanded goals with 17, set a franchise record for the most shorthanded goals scored in one season on February 19 against SASKATOON (previous record of 16 set in 2000-2001 and 2002-2003)…The ICE are 27-2-0-0 when leading after the second period, 3-13-0-0 when losing and 8-3-1-2 when tied…KEVIN KING is tied for third in the League in shorthanded goals with five…CODY EAKIN is tied for fifth in the WHL in shorthanded goals with four (all four with the ICE in just 13 games)…ELGIN PEARCE played in his 100th WHL career game on February 18th against MEDICINE HAT…LUKE PAULSEN needs to play in one more game to reach 100 in his WHL career..JESSE ISMOND needs to play in two more games to reach 200 in his WHL career…BRAYDEN MCNABB needs to play in four more games to reach 250 in his WHL career game.

SCORING STREAKS: KEVIN KING (9-9-18) has recorded at least a point in his last 12 games…MAX REINHART (4-6-10) has recorded at least a point in his last six games.

INJURIES: JOEY LEACH (ankle) and BROCK MONTGOMERY (pelvis) will both be out of the ICE line up day to day with their injuries.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 59 games of the 2009-2010 season the ICE were 37-17-3-2, after 60 games 37-18-3-2 and after 61 games 37-19-3-2.
