Cranbrook, BC – The Saskatoon Blades scored 3 powerplay goals in a 5-3 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Saturday night.
ICE opened the scoring on the powerplay as Max Reinhart’s shot was stopped and the rebound found Jesse Ismond near the crease and he lifted it into the net.
Blades scored 2 powerplay goals in 2:13 to take a 2-1 lead.
On a scramble near the net Chris Collins found the puck and backhanded it over the fallen goalie.
Brayden Schenn was wide open in the middle slot and scored with a wrist shot high on the glove side.
The Blades added a powerplay goal in the 2nd period as Brayden Schenn came down the left wing and fired a wrist shot high on the glove side.
In the 3rd period the ICE scored a shorthanded goal as Kevin King started a breakaway at his blue line and scored with a wrist shot high on the glove side.
