Kootenay 3 Moose Jaw 1 Game #41

Cranbrook, BC – The Kootenay ICE scored 2 1st period goals in a 3-1 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors in WHL action on Friday night.

ICE opened the scoring on a powerplay as Jesse Ismond fed defenseman Luke Paulsen in the middle slot and scored on on a one-time snap shot.
ICE have powerplay goals in 10 straight games.
ICE added a shorthanded late in the 1st period as Joe Antilla created a turnover and Kevin King fired a slap shot high on the glove side.
King leads the club with 3 shorthanded goals.
It’s the clubs’ 1st shorthanded goal since November 20th when the scored 3 in one period against Prince Albert.

In the 2nd period with the clubs skating 4-on-4 Warriors defenseman Dylan McLlrath got to the middle slot for a shot and the rebound was put in by Spencer Edwards.

Moose Jaw pulled their goalie with 1:24 left in the game. The ICE got the empty net goal as Jesse Ismond and Matt Fraser went on a 2-1on break and Fraser finally gave the ICE the insurance goal.

Hayden Rintoul returned after missing 16 games to a knee injury.

ICE will host Red Deer on Saturday.
