Edmonton 2 Kootenay 1 SO Game #6

Edmonton, Alb – The Edmonton Oil Kings won the shootout 2-0 in a 2-1 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Wednesday night.

ICE opened the scoring midway through the 1st period as Dylan McKinlay fed Max Reinhart who scored with a shot under the cross bar.

Oil Kings tied the game on a 4-on-3 power-play in the 3rd period.

Brendan Hurley left the game in the 3rd period after a leg-on-leg collision with Griffin Reinhart. The Oil King defenseman received a 5 minute major and game misconduct. Hurley left the arena on crutches and has a charley horse injury.

Max Reinhart and Sam Reinhart were both stopped in the shootout.

These clubs play each other 6 times a season. In 09-10 and 10-11 combined the ICE won all 12 meetings.
