Medicine Hat 2 Kootenay 1 Game #12

Medicine Hat, Alb – The Medicine Hat Tigers scored 2 1st period goals and held on for a 2-1 win over the Kootenay ICE in WHL action on Tuesday night.

The Tigers scored 2 goals in the 1st period with Patrik Parkkonen completing a 4-on-2 break and Emerson Etem his league leading 14th on the power-play.

ICE scored the lone goal of the 2nd period on the power-play as Joey Leach’s wrist shot from the point was deflected by Drew Czerwonka and it dribbledd through the goalie’s arm/chest and it rolled all the way into the net.

The Tigers extend their winning streak to 5 games and the Ice streak ends at 3 wins in a row.

ICE will host Moose Jaw on Saturday.

Luke Paulsen suffered a bruised knee in Lethbridge yesterday and is day-to-day.
Dylen McKinlay is also day-to-day with a minor lower body injury.
