Kootenay 2 Lethbridge 1 Game #9

Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE forward Elgin Pearce scored the game winner late in the 3rd period as the Kootenay ICE beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 2-1 in WHL action on Friday night.

ICE opened the scoring on an early powerplay as Joey Leach’s point shot hit the goal post and Drew Czerwonka was near the crease to put it into the net.

Lethbridge tied the game in the 2nd period on a goal mouth scramble as Graham Hood banged it in.

Late in the 3rd period the ICE scored on the powerplay as right off the faceoff Elgin Pearce scored with a wrist shot that beat the screened goalie on the glove side.

ICE will visit host Prince Albert on Saturday.
The ICE Fan Club will have a tailgate party in the parking lot before the game.

ICE Scratches – Wand, Descheneau, Hurley.
Captain Drew Czerwonka played his 1st game of the season after missing 8 games to a shoulder injury.
Dylen McKinlay left the game in the 2nd period with a lower body injury.
