The ICE and Blazers will meet for the first and only time this season tonight at the Rec-Plex.
The last ICE home game was 26 days ago when they won 5-0 over Edmonton.
Over the last 5 meetings the ICE have a 4-0-0-1 record vs the Blazers.
Steele Boomer will miss his 10th straight game with a concussion. He has gone from day-to-day to week-to-week. But fans shouldn't be worried. He is doing a lot better and probably could play within a week but since the club has only 3 games left before the break and then another 10 days off it's best to give him an extra couple weeks off. Plus after missing 10-12 games getting in game shape will take some time.
The club made a couple of adjustments to their forward line combinations during practice this week and will see if that's the route they go tonight.
Nathan Lieuwen will make his 5th straight start in net and Kimberley Dynamiters Dylan Tait will be the back-up.
Players to watch from the Blazers - Defenseman Nick Ross (Phoenix 1st round pick 2007) has that history with John Negrin from his Regina days. 20-year-old Brady Calla started the year playing for Florida's farm club in the AHL. 17-year-old forward Jimmy Bubnick could be a 2nd or 3rd round pick in the 2009 NHL Draft. Shane Wiebe (15 goals), Tyler Shattock (15 goals) and C.J. Stretch (41 points) are having productive seasons.
