Cranbrook, BC – Red Deer beat the Kootenay ICE 3-2 in an overtime shootout in WHL action on Sunday night.
ICE opened the scoring as Jesse Ismond was alone in front of the puck and put in a loose puck after it originally hit the goal post.
Rebels’ tied it on a 2-on-1 break as Landon Ferraro fired a wrist shot for his team leading 21st.
ICE regained the lead on a 5-on-3 power-play as Michael Stickland one-timed a pass from John Negrin and beat the goalie on the stick side.
Rebels’ tied it 2-2 as Willie Coetzee banged in a loose puck after it hit he post.
Rebels won the shootout portion 2-1.
The ICE will host Brandon on New Years’ Eve on Wednesday.
