Cranbrook, BC – Kootenay ICE goalie Nathan Lieuwen made 29 saves for his 3rd shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers in WHL action on Wednesday night.
ICE opened the scoring as Jesse Ismond was left alone in front of the net a lifted the puck over the goalie’s shoulder.
In the 3rd period Matt Fraser made it 2-0 with a slap shot that beat the goalie low on the stick side.
Dustin Sylvester added one into an empty net.
Steele Boomer missed his 12th game to a concussion while Michael Stickland injured his shoulder in practice and did not play.
The WHL will now go on their 10-day break for the holidays.
ICE return to action the 27th in Lethbridge and will host Red Deer on the 28th and Brandon on New Years’ Eve.
