A&W MITTEN AND TOQUE TOSS: When the ICE host the MEDICINE HAT TIGERS on December 4 it will be the A&W MITTEN AND TOQUE TOSS Night…This season there is a large demand for winter wear so fans are encouraged to bring new, unused winter wear and clothing to the game to launch onto the ice when KOOTENAY scores their first goal…The winter wear collected at this game will be distributed to the Salvation Army, the Angel Tree and various other community organizations.
DID YOU KNOW: The ICE tied a franchise record for most shorthanded goals in a game with three against PRINCE ALBERT on November 20 (in LETHBRIDGE – October 30, 1998, at home to LETHBRIDGE – December 29, 2002)…KOOTENAY is tied with the MEDICINE HAT TIGERS for the most shorthanded goals in the League with seven…The ICE are 10-0-0-0 when leading after the second period, 2-4-0-1 when losing and 4-1-0-1 when tied…KOOTENAY is 10-1-0-1 when they score the first goal of the game and 6-4-0-1 when their opponent scores first The ICE are 12-2-0-1 when outshooting their opponent, 3-3-0-1 when being outshot and 1-0-0-0 when shots are tied…NATHAN LIEUWEN is second in the WHL in goals against average (2.23)…MAX REINHART needs to record five more points to reach 100 in his WHL career.
SCORING STREAKS: BRAYDEN MCNABB (1-6-7) and JAGGER DIRK (3-0-3) have both scored at least a point in their last three games.
INJURIES: Forward BRENDAN HURLEY will be out of the ICE line up four to six weeks with a hand injury…Forward ERIK BENOIT will be out of the KOOTENAY line up day to day with a knee injury.
