The WHL has nominated Nathan Lieuwen of the Kootenay Ice for the CHL Goaltender of the Week Award. Lieuwen posted a 2-0-0-0 record this past week with one shut-out, stopping 48 of 50 shots faced for a 1.000 goals-against average and 0.960 save percentage. Lieuwen, a native of Abbotsford, BC, back-stopped the Ice to a 3-2 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers and 3-0 shut-out win over the Calgary Hitmen, earning 3rd and 1st Star honours.
The WHL Player of the Week is forward Andrej Kudrna of the Red Deer Rebels.
Kudrna picked up seven points, scoring four goals and three assists in two games over the past week, helping the Rebels to a 2-0-0-0 record.
