ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week’s action with a 11-13-1-1 record (7-6-1-1 at home, 4-7-0-0 on the road, 4-1 in overtime, 1-1 in shootouts) and are tied for third place in the CENTRAL DIVISION…The ICE will play their next five games against teams from the BC DIVISION (November 27 – December 4) before returning home to host EDMONTON (December 9).

NEW YEARS EVE WITH THE ICE: Celebrate NEW YEARS EVE with the KOOTENAY ICE…Following the game against REGINA on December 31st the Hockey Club will be hosting a NEW YEARS EVE party at the HERITAGE INN...Tickets are $75.00 per person or $125.00 per couple and will include dinner, DJ, dance, silent auction and door prizes…Tickets are available at the KOOTENAY ICE OFFICE with all the monies raised going to the EDUCATION FUND.

FAMILY PACKS: The ICE have FAMILY PACKS on sale for Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday home games during the 2009-2010 season excluding Sunday, December 27…FAMILY PACKS are $45.00 and include two adult tickets, two youth or student tickets, a parking voucher, a game program voucher, and two McDonald Happy Meal vouchers…For more information, or to purchase a FAMILY PACK, call or visit the KOOTENAY ICE Office.

SAVE ON FOODS: The KOOTENAY ICE and SAVE ON FOODS are pleased to announce the 2009-2010 SAVE ON FOODS VOUCHERS are now available…Customers can purchase the ticket vouchers at the CRANBROOK SAVE ON FOODS location for all remaining KOOTENAY ICE regular season home games…Cardholders can pick them up for $14.00 plus gst or for free with the redemption of 8,000 SAVE ON MORE points…Non-Cardholders can get their vouchers for $16.00 plus gst.

SUBWAY CENTRAL DIVISION CHALLENGE CUP: This year KOOTENAY will be facing off against the rest of the CENTRAL DIVISION for a different kind of trophy…The SUBWAY CENTRAL DIVISION CHALLENGE CUP tallies points from head-to-head meetings in the CENTRAL DIVISION and the team with the most points in those head-to-heads at the end of the regular season will be awarded the SUBWAY CENTRAL DIVISION CHALLENGE CUP…Fans can get involved by answering weekly trivia questions to win prizes…To get to the CHALLENGE CUP webpage click on the link at www.kootenayice.net

A&W TEDDY BEAR / MITTEN TOSS: When the ICE host the CALGARY HITMEN on December 11 it will be the annual A & W TEDDY BEAR / MITTEN TOSS Night…Fans are encouraged to bring new, unused stuffed bears (due to distribution in health care facilities) and winter clothing to the game that will be tossed on to the ice when KOOTENAY scores their first goal…Bears and winter clothing collected at this game will be distributed to the Salvation Army, the Angel Tree and various other community organizations.

DID YOU KNOW: The ICE are 9-4-1-1 when they score first and 2-9-0-0 when their opponent scores first…KOOTENAY is 5-0-0-1 when leading after the second period, 2-12-1-0 when losing and 4-1-0-0 when tied...The ICE are 7-5-0-0 when outshooting their opponent, 3-8-1-1 when outshot by their opponent and 1-0-0-0 when shots are tied…DUSTIN SYLVESTER, who need to record three more assists to reach 100 in his WHL career, tied a franchise record for career short handed goals with 11 against LETHBRIDGE on November 15 (DUNCAN MILROY – 11)…JOE ANTILLA played in his 150 WHL career game against REGINA on November 20.

INJURIES / TRANSACTION: Defensemen BRAYDEN MCNABB and Forward MATT FRASER will both be out of the KOOTENAY line up day to day with knee injuries…Forward SIMON SKRUDLAND (March 4, 1991) has been reassigned to Junior A.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 26 games of the 2008-2009 season the ICE were 12-9-2-3, after 27 games 13-9-2-3 and after 28 games 14-9-2-3.
