The Kootenay ICE have 19 players who are eligible to return to the WHL this season, including 11 forwards.
They have three 20-year-olds with Kevin King, Matt Fraser and Steele Boomer.
Two 19-year-olds with Joe Antilla and Jesse Ismond.
The returnees include five 18-year-olds Max Reinhart, Drew Czerwonka, Elgin Pearce, Brock Montgomery and Christian Magnus.
One 17-year-old Brendan Hurley.
The club usually keeps 13 forwards so going into camp there are only 2 openings.
As always, the message is that the returning players aren’t guaranteed their spot in the line-up.
Plus the returning forwards will also be competing for playing time especially on the power-play and penalty-kill.
Going into camp there are 14 prospects with 10 16-year-olds and 4 17-year-olds and there is a lot of solid potential to choose from.
Ryan Bloom played 1 game with the ICE last year and joins Adam Rossignol, Eric Benoit and Jarett Zentner as 17-year-olds who appear ready for the WHL.
A couple of 16-year-olds who will get long looks are Jared Iron and last years’ 1st rounder Colby Cave.
