ICE vs Tri City Exhibition Game #3
Kennewick, Wash – The Kootenay ICE preseason record dropped to 0-3 with a 5-3 loss to the Tri City Americans.
Americans scored 4 powerplay goals including a pair of 2-man advantage goals.
ICE opened the scoring as Brock Montgomery physically took the puck behind the Americans’ net and fed Jagger Dirk at the blueline and his slap shot along the ice beat the screened goalie between the legs.
ICE second goal came on a 2nd period powerplay as Jesse Ismond was the playmaker feeding a wide open Levi Cable at the back door and put it in the net before the diving goalie could make the save.
ICE third goal came in the 3rd period as Colby Cave got his 2nd of the preseason with a forehand wraparound that he tucked under the goalies’ legs.
Brett Teskey started in net for the ICE and made 16 saves on 17 shots. Nathan Lieuwen made his first appearance of the preseason coming into the game midway through the second period and made 13 saves on 16 shots.
