ICE in Regina

The Kootenay ICE are in Regina tonight in game 1 of a 4 game road trip. Last year the Pats won the season series 3-1, with 3 of the games going to overtime. The ICE have lost 4 in a row, with 2 of the losses in shootouts. The Pats are on a 3 game winning streak.
Matt Fraser should return after recovering from a shoulder injury. Dustin Sylvester will be a gametime decison after being injured on Sunday.
During the trip I'll be visiting with the 9 rookies on the ICE roster. 8 intermissions, 9 interviews. Get to know the new guys.
Had a great visit with Pats new head coach Dale Derkatch. He was playing for the Pats when I lived in Saskatoon going to broadcast school. Some great games at the old Arena. In 83-84 he had 72 goals and 159 points with teammates Lyndon Byers, Taylor Hall, Doug Trapp, Selmar Odelein, Stu Grimson, Jamie Reeve and a young Brad Lauer. The 82-83 Blades had 5 players with over 100 points with Roger Kortko, Lane Lambert, Perry Ganchar, Todd Streuby and Ross Lambert. Guys like Dale Henry, Joey Kocur and Trent Yawney were the up and comers.
