Kootenay hosts Prince George & Saskatoon

ICE 5-game home stand will wrap-up with Prince George on Friday and Saskatoon on Saturday.
ICE have won 4 in a row and have points in their last 6 games.
Defenseman John Negrin has 6 points during a 4-game point streak, Max Reinhart has goals in his last 2 games and Michael Stickland & Dustin Sylvester have 4 points during their 3-game point streaks.
Prince George will be playing game 8 of 9 straight on the road. So far they are 1-6. Overall the Cougars are at 7-7-0-0 which is good for 3rd in the BC Division.
Players to watch - Dana Tyrell 10 goals and 14 points for the 2nd round pick of Tampa Bay. Brett Connolly 14 points for the 16-year old who was the 10th overall pick in the 2007 Bantam Draft. Goalies Joe Caligiuri (former Wheat King) and Kevin Armstrong (former Chief) have both played well against the ICE in the past.
Saskatoon had their winning streak halted at 9 games with an OT loss to Portland on Wednesday. The Blades have moved into 1st place in the East Division.
Players to watch - Goalie Braeden Holtby, who has just signed a contract with the NHL's Washington Capitals, has stolen a few games against the ICE in the past 2 years. Defenseman Jyri Niemi scored 2 goals at the Rec-Plex last year and was selected in the 2nd round by the NY Islanders. D-man Stefan Elliott is one of the best 17-year old defensemen in the WHL.
The Blades are owned by Jack Brodsky and the Cougars are owned by his brother Rick.

A BREAST IN THE ROCKIES NIGHT: When the ICE host the SASKATOON BLADES on Saturday, October 25 it will be the second annual A BREAST IN THE ROCKIES NIGHT…Fans will be able to bid on the pink sticks the team will be using for warm up and in the first period of the game…Last year, A BREAST IN THE ROCKIES and the KOOTENAY ICE raised $5,000 for the fight against BREAST CANCER.
