Swift Current 3 Kootenay 2 SO

Cranbrook, BC – Swift Current beat the Kootenay ICE 3-2 in an overtime shootout in WHL action on Saturday night.

Swift Current opened the scoring as Grant Toulmin found a loose puck near the crease and had an open net to bang it in.
ICE tied it as defenseman John Negrin brought the puck around the Bronco net and his high pass was batted in by Dustin Sylvester.
Broncos’ regained the lead late in the 2nd as Keegan Dansereau intercepted a clearing attempt and skated to the slot and scored on a wrist shot low on the glove side.
ICE tied it 2-2 on 2-man advantage power-play with defenseman Ian Barteaux scoring on wrist shot high on the glove side.
Broncos outscored the ICE 2-1 in 4 rounds of the shootout.

The ICE will host Kelowna on Sunday.
